Dachshunds teethe from 4 to 6 months, so mouthing is quite usual then. It is strongly suggested to mend this mouthing habit of your miniature dachshund at the early stage

Often dachshund puppies mouth our hands when excited or when playing and puppies usually do this more to children than adults. And you have to control this habit of your pup.The subsequent ways are suggested for most puppies up to 4 months of age, according to their size.

At first, a dachsund will use his mouth to explore his environment. Throughout the teething process, it keeps the dog happy to chew on all kinds of items, soft and hard.

Give your dachshund some chew toys with unique textures to help get their chewing requirements appropriately with pup training. Large rawhide bones and carrots can be placed in the freezer and supplied to a teething puppy. Braided fiber bones dipped in chicken broth or water and then frozen are also a good option.

If your puppy is chewing on you, the instant the pressure raises use your "hurt puppy' noise leaving your hand in his mouth. Once the pressure is loose, gradually remove your hand.

If you wish to maintain good relation with your pup simply treat him as you treat your child.

Praise him in a calm manner if his response is immediate and provide him an appropriate chew toy. Do not give a toy while your hand is still in his mouth, this will instigate the wrong behavior. Another technique which can be applied is to train your puppy to understand your commands and gestures.

If your puppy dont hear what you say, or is getting more and more nasty with people as well as you, its serious then. And he will continue doing the same until you train him not to.
